Waxing, Newhaven, is suitable for men and women and is an effective way of hair removal that can be used on most parts of the body. At Be Well with Shell we use the Clean and Easy roller system which we find to be more hygienic than the traditional pot and spatula method.
From the face the most common request is for eyebrow waxing for both men and women. Women can also have hair removed from the upper lip and chin, but for men the hair here is too coarse. From the body, underarm hair can be removed as well as from arms, hands, shoulders, back, legs, feet and for women the bikini line. Some salons offer male intimate waxing but this does not take place at Be Well with Shell.
It is important to carry out any preparation needed for the treatment. This may involve trimming longer hair, exfoliating regularly or coming to the salon for a patch test. After care should also be followed to ensure the skin does not become sore, irritated or infected through cross contamination whilst the hair follicles are open post waxing treatment These measures also ensure that regrowth of the hair is normal.
If you have very sensitive skin, have reacted to waxing previously or react to the patch test then you are recommended to try a different method of hair removal such as threading or laser treatment offered at a different salon.
Apart from the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet, the whole of the body is covered with a fine downy hair called vellus. The coarse dark hair we have is called terminal hair. Growth of hair is determined by genes, gender, ethnic background and hormones.
Whether you require the removal of the hair for aesthetic or hygiene reasons you can rest assured that at Be Well with Shell your waxing experience will be done with maximum care and discretion and minimal discomfort.
